Law & Order’s approach to character exits has become frustrating and disrespectful to its audience. While cast turnover is expected in a show that has spanned over two decades, recent departures since the 2021 soft reboot lack the closure and respect seen in earlier seasons. Fans were particularly disappointed by Camryn Manheim’s exit, as her character’s final scene was an unremarkable workday with no acknowledgment of her departure. This missed opportunity to give her a meaningful send-off reflects a pattern of underwhelming exits that fail to honor both the actors and the viewers.
