No. 1 South Carolina defeated Coppin State 92-60 on Thursday night, led by 23 points from MiLaysia Fulwiley and 19 points and 10 rebounds from Chloe Kitts. The victory was the team’s 41st consecutive victory.
The Gamecocks (3-0) celebrated their 38-0 title run from the previous season by raising the national championship banner to start their home campaign. After that, they focused on maintaining their excellent start to the season.
Kitts recorded her second double-double of the season despite missing Sunday’s victory over No. 13 NC State due to an academic issue. The Gamecocks won their 60th consecutive home game, and Fulwiley made four of her team’s ten 3-pointers.
