South Carolina Gamecocks Women’s Basketball vs Coppin State Preview
The South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team will play the Coppin State Eagles (2-1) at home for the first time during the regular season.
The game is scheduled to begin at Colonial Life Arena at 7:00 p.m. (ET). As the team celebrates a flawless 38-0 season that ended with a national championship, Thursday night will be particularly memorable. The goal for the Gamecocks is to win 41 straight games.
They have multiple 40-win streaks, making them just the second program in NCAA history to do it.
The Gamecocks and Eagles will clash for the first time ever. With victories over Frostburg State and St. Francis, Pennsylvania, the Eagles are 2-1 so far this season. The unbeaten Gamecocks, meanwhile, enter the match having defeated NC State in the top ten.
This season, South Carolina’s excellent backcourt is led by guards Te-Hina Paopao and MiLaysia Fulwiley. Paopao’s performance versus NC State was excellent. She had three assists, three rebounds, and 23 points at the end of the day.
Fulwiley contributed three rebounds and eighteen points. This season, the star backcourt pair is predicted to rank among the best in the country.
Particularly in a narrow victory over Michigan, players like Raven Johnson, Chloe Kitts, Tessa Johnson, and Joyce Edwards have all left their mark. In every game this season, the Gamecocks will depend on a group led by strong veterans.
Seniors are in charge of the Eagles. Each game, the versatile forward averages 18 points, 9.3 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and slightly more than one block. The Eagles’ talented backcourt is completed by guards Tiffany Hammond and Angel Jones.
There is no point spread for this game, but South Carolina is predicted to win.
