According to Robert Murray of FanSided, the club believes it has a “very good chance” of a deal, but it’s too early to tell.
Murray stated, “General manager Dana Brown claims that the Houston Astros have had ‘a lot of discussions’ with free-agent infielder Alex Bregman and his agent Scott Boras.” “We hope that some positive things happen, and they have been productive,” Brown stated. “I believe we stand a very strong chance.”
In 2024, Bregman won a Gold Glove Award and hit 26 home runs while driving in 75 runs. Spotrac now projects him to sign a four-year, $119 million contract this winter, though that does appear to be on the lower end of the spectrum. He is undoubtedly going to have a successful season.
