**University of Alabama Student Arrested on Multiple Rape Charges**

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. – A University of Alabama student, Gambill Gentry, 23, was arrested on July 25 on serious charges including first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, and multiple counts of first-degree voyeurism. According to Captain Jack Kennedy, the arrest follows a report from a female student who stated that after meeting Gentry, an acquaintance, at a bar, she woke up the next morning with no memory of the previous night. Investigators later uncovered photo and video evidence indicating she had been sexually assaulted while unconscious.

Following Gentry’s arrest, he was held without bond under Aniah’s Law and has since been banned from the University of Alabama campus. The law, named after the late Aniah Blanchard, allows judges to deny bail to suspects in certain violent crimes.

Investigators have stated that there is potential for more victims and have encouraged anyone with information or who believes they may have been affected to contact the Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Unit at 205-464-8690.

The University of Alabama and local authorities are working closely to address the situation, ensuring the safety of the campus community and providing resources to those impacted. The case underscores the critical importance of campus safety and awareness, as well as support for victims of sexual assault.
