They disclosed that Guillain-Barré syndrome, an uncommon inflammatory disease affecting the nerves, is severely afflicting Maximus. Maximus’s complete paralysis over the weekend led to the diagnosis of the disease.
However, Maximus’s parents pointed out that he was admitted to the hospital on time and has significantly improved over the past 48 hours. In addition to being taken off of a ventilator, he has been removed from his breathing tube.
