The Rams are in the thick of a relegation fight in the Championship.
Two of Derby County’s relegation rivals have been dealt huge blows to their survival chances.
Plymouth Argyle and Luton Town, who are currently in the Championship drop zone with the Rams, have been hit by season-ending injuries.
Plymouth’s record signing Maksym Talovierov is expected to miss the rest of the campaign with a knee injury and Luton forward Jacob Brown will not play again this season after undergoing ankle surgery.
Talovierov suffered his injury in Derby’s 3-2 win over Plymouth before the international break.
Meanwhile, Luton boss Matt Bloomfield said he’s “bitterly disappointed” to lose Brown.
“Browny is one of the most honest, hard-working guys I’ve come across in the game in terms of his honesty for himself and the group,” he said.
“He was actually doing really well as a finisher recently, impacting games, so we are bitterly disappointed to lose him for the rest of the season.”
Brown said: “I am gutted that I will not be able to help the team and this club on the pitch in these final games but I will do everything I can to support the boys from the sideline. We need your support now more than ever ready for the final push.
“Injuries, as difficult as they are, are part and parcel of the game and through experience I know I will come through the other side stronger.”
Derby are five points above bottom side Plymouth and three points above 23rd-placed Luton, with John Eustace’s side in 22nd place in the table after three wins on the trot before the international break.
The Rams, who are one point adrift of safety with eight matches left to play, return to action after the international break next week, as they face Preston North End at Pride Park on Wednesday night (7:45pm).
