Hull City Boss Provides Update on Transfer Targets

Hull City Head Coach Tim Walter said he will only sign players during the summer transfer window who have “hunger” to play for the club.

Walter was named as the Tigers’ new Head Coach in May following the departure of Liam Rosenior at the end of the 2023/24 campaign. However, the German boss has seen just one new arrival at the MKM Stadium this summer – former loanee Ryan Giles who arrived permanently from Luton Town.

Ultimately, the Humberside club have been linked with several players throughout the transfer window. Recent targets include Premier League player Jesurun Rak-Sakyi from Crystal Palace and Okay Yoksulu, who was part of Turkey’s Euro 2024 squad.

But the Tigers have not made any concrete moves to bring further personnel into the first-team squad, despite recent rumours. In addition, the Championship side allowed 12 players to leave the club on transfers, loans or as free agents, including Championship Team of the Year inductee Jacob Greaves who joined Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee.

Although Hull’s transfer activity has been slow-moving thus far, Walter remains upbeat about signing the right players in this window. When speaking to Hull Live about his plans in the transfer market, the 48-year-old said he would not sign any players unless they were a good fit for the club.
