‘7 ruled out’: Blackburn Rovers rocked by huge injury blow ahead of Derby County match

The Rams are preparing to face John Eustace’s former club in a huge Championship clash at Pride Park.

Blackburn Rovers have been dealt a huge injury blow ahead of facing Derby County.

And John Eustace’s former club will be missing at least seven players for Saturday’s Championship clash at Pride Park (3pm).

Rovers’ top scorer Andi Weimann has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Danny Batth, Scott Wharton, Harry Pickering, Harry Leonard and John Buckley are all also sidelined, while Emmanuel Dennis is suspended.

“Andi Weimann is now out for the rest of this season and others need to step up,” Blackburn head coach Valerien Ismael said.

“It’s a big blow for him, for us and for our fans.

“We’ll make sure everything goes well with his recovery and we’ll see who the next one is to step up to the job that Andi has done. Everyone will be important and get that chance.

“When the chance comes, you need to be ready to help the team. We’ll need everyone and need to count on players.

“We won’t be able to welcome back anyone. Danny Batth and a few others will have to wait until after the international break so as not to put the players under pressure.

“John Buckley will also be missing until after the international break.”
