Born in Walthamstow, Bond began his professional football career with Watford, making his debut at 17 under manager Ron Burgess. He quickly became a key player for the Hornets, amassing over 100 appearances in the Third Division.

In March 1967, Bond fulfilled a childhood dream by joining his boyhood club, Tottenham Hotspur. He made his debut on April 1, 1967, coming off the bench against Liverpool. Over three years, Bond made 27 first-team appearances and scored once, notably featuring in a European Cup Winners’ Cup match against Olympique Lyonnais in December 1967.
Later Career
Bond transferred to Charlton Athletic in October 1970, where he became a regular starter over two and a half years. He returned to Watford in 1973, initially on loan before making the move permanent, and concluded his professional career with the Hornets in 1978, having made a total of 301 appearances and scored 42 goals across both spells.
Post-Professional Career
After leaving professional football, Bond continued playing at the non-league level for clubs including Boreham Wood, Waltham Abbey, and Potters Bar Town. He finally hung up his boots at the age of 55.
