Everton ace Beto on Fenerbahce transfer radar as Jose Mourinho eyes new striker
Jose Mourinho has identified Everton striker Beto as an alternative target for Fenerbahce, according to Sporx.
Writing on their X account (12 July), the Turkish outlet stated that 19-time title winners Fenerbahce will target a move for Beto if they fail in their attempts to sign Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, which is now looking likely.
Fenerbahce looked set to secure the signing of En-Nesyri but are now at risk of losing out on the player to Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah.
Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug and Chelsea’s Armando Broja are also on the list of targets for the Turkish side.
Should Everton cash in on Beto this summer?
There was a sense of excitement around Goodison Park last summer when the club confirmed the signing of Beto from Udinese for £25million (Sky Sports, 29 August 2023).
The Portuguese striker scored 21 goals goal in 62 Serie A appearances and hit double digit figures in both of his two seasons in Italy.
