The BEAT collaboration, which also includes Adrian Belew, Steve Vai, and Danny Carey of Tool, brought Levin’s contributions to King Crimson back into the public eye this past year. But just a few years after splitting from Robert Fripp & Co., Levin’s illustrious career also included a collaboration with Pink Floyd, another British prog powerhouse. On “A Momentary Lapse of Reason” (1987), the first Pink Floyd album without Roger Waters, Levin performed bass and the Chapman Stick. In a recent interview with Vulture, the bass legend reflected on the encounter, saying:
