Due to an injury, Alabama LB Deontae Lawson will miss spring practice.

Deontae Lawson, a redshirt senior linebacker, missed the final two games for the Crimson Tide after suffering a knee injury during Alabama’s defeat by Oklahoma.
It will be some time before Lawson returns to practicing with his team, he stated in an interview with the Crimson Tide Sports Network.
Lawson remarked, “It will be until fall camp.” “Yes, before I’m active, probably fall camp, but I’ll definitely try to stay as much as I can.”
Along with Tyler Booker, Jalen Milroe, and Malachi Moore, Lawson was chosen by his teammates to be one of the four team captains prior to the season. Lawson finished second on the team with 76 total tackles, despite missing two games. In addition, he recorded two sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, and 6.5 tackles for loss.
The return of Lawson and fellow fifth-year linebacker Justin Jefferson, who took over the green dot helmet communication after Lawson left, significantly strengthened Alabama’s inside linebacker corps. This offseason, the Crimson Tide also acquired an ILB through the transfer portal in Nikhai Green-Hill, a Colorado transfer. Until Lawson is able to return, those two will most likely be in charge of the inside linebackers throughout the spring.
