Stroud was 0-2 as a starter versus TTUN. He also did not win when he was on the roster in general. It felt like he was destined to never beat Jim Harbaugh. Stroud was picked second overall by the Houston Texans in the 2023 NFL Draft. Harbaugh left for the NFL following last season.
As luck would have it, the two faced off in the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs. The Texans took on Harbaugh’s Chargers in Houston. Despite the Texans not having played well for the final half of the season, they were able to beat Harbaugh and the Chargers 32-12.

C.J. Stroud delivered a strong performance, showcasing both his passing and rushing skills to secure the victory. He completed 22 of 33 passes for 282 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception. Additionally, Stroud demonstrated his mobility by rushing six times for 42 yards, including a notable 27-yard dash through the heart of the defense.
