Joey Porter Jr., a cornerback, and wide receiver Ben Skowronek were ruled out of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Both Skworonek and Porter sustained injuries against the Baltimore Ravens, and it was simply too difficult for them to recover and play four days later in a short week. Despite their best efforts, neither of them was able to complete the game. Although neither practiced this week, they might try to make a comeback for the team’s matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Due to a shoulder injury, Skowronek missed almost the whole season’s first half. He has returned and is now a vital blocker and punt shooter for the offense, playing fullback, slot receiver, and wing. In his absence, the Steelers will rely on their tight ends and other five wide outs to make up for his lost blocking ability.
The organization thinks Porter will return for the Wild Card Round, but he will probably miss the remainder of the regular season due to a grade 1 PCL sprain. In any case, Cory Trice or James Pierre will start across from Donte Jackson.
