Dodgers agree to $74 million contract with Tommy Edman after Blake Snell deal

The Los Angeles Dodgers and super utility man Tommy Edman have agreed on a five-year, $74M deal, bringing Edman back to LA after he was moved from the St. Louis Cardinals at the deadline in July.

“Superutilityman Tommy Edman and the Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a five-year, $74 million contract extension, sources tell ESPN. The deal runs from 2025-29 and includes a sixth-year club option. There’s a $17 million signing bonus and deferred money included.” via Jeff Passan on X, formerly Twitter.

Known for his defensive flexibility and consistent bat, Edman’s extension solidifies his role in the Dodgers’ long-term plans. Capable of excelling at second base, shortstop, and the outfield, the 29-year-old brings a rare combination of elite speed, defensive prowess, and offensive production.
