Like Father, Like Son: Feyenoord Extended a Big Contract Again

Juventus have reportedly decided to make Feyenoord defender David Hancko a priority of their January transfer market after recent reports from their director Cristiano Giuntoli confirmed he’s an ideal profile to replace long-term injured Gleison Bremer.

The Brazilian’s absence has significantly weakened the Bianconeri’s rearguard, prompting Giuntoli to sound the European transfer market in search of a valuable alternative.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Old Lady’s director was in the stands during Manchester City’s 3-3 home draw against Feyenoord, which saw Hancko score his side’s third goal of the night to complete a memorable comeback.

The former Fiorentina centre-back gave further proof of his worth at the Etihad Stadium, and Juventus are now ready to do everything they can to bring the 26-year-old back to Serie A next January.

While overcoming the resistance of Feyenoord may not be easy, the Bianconeri hope to persuade them by including in the deal defender Facundo Gonzalez, who is on loan at the Eredivisie club from the Turin outfit.

The Dutch side could keep the Uruguayan centre-back by triggering a €6m clause, and the Old Lady could leverage it to lower Feyenoord’s demands for Hancko.

However, the Serie A giants also seem to be interested in Benfica’s Antonio Silva to strengthen their defence, but their moves on the transfer market may also depend on how much they will rase from the rase of Nicolò Fagioli.
