A graduate of Biomedical Engineering with a GPA of 3.88, Lyons exemplifies the balance between academic excellence and athletic prowess. During the 2023 season, she hit .331 with nine home runs and 34 RBIs, earning her second consecutive Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year award. Additionally, she became the first Sooner to receive the Rawlings Gold Glove Award for her exceptional play at shortstop.
Another standout is Jayda Coleman, who earned the D1Softball Defensive Player of the Year honor. Known for her game-changing defensive plays, Coleman was instrumental in securing Oklahoma’s third consecutive national title.
