John Eustace issues injury worries as Derby County duo face Portsmouth battle

Sondre Langas and Callum Elder are both “touch and go” for Derby County’s trip to Portsmouth at the weekend.

Langas has been playing through the pain barrier with a knee problem that will require surgery at the end of the season while Elder picked up a knock in the win over Preston.

Both players did not train today ahead of the trip to Fratton Park on Saturday (3pm) where Derby will look for a result that keeps them out of the Championship’s bottom three.

Eustace said tomorrow will be crucial to deciding whether both players will be available to face John Mousinho’s side.

“They didn’t train today, so they’re going to be touch and go unfortunately,” said Eustace.

“The effort that both of them players have put in, whilst playing injured, has been amazing.

“We’ll just see if they can make Saturday, but we will have to wait.

“Callum has been outstanding since we came in. He’s had a lot of positive moments, a few assists, and he’s really taken that leadership role, which we’ve asked him to do as well.
