Committed: Michigan football team beat rival team to a coveted 2026 lineman

Four-star tight end Brock Harris was scheduled to make his college decision on Monday, giving Michigan football an opportunity to increase the number of pledges it has made in the 2026 recruiting cycle. However, Harris decided to sign with BYU over the Ducks and Michigan after it seemed that both Oregon and the Wolverines were ahead in his recruiting.

Michigan is moving in the right direction with other commits, but the Wolverines are still at three in the ’26 cycle. Ethan McDowell of On3 made a prediction on Tuesday that Michigan would acquire four-star offensive tackle Leo Delaney. Additionally, 247Sports’ Brice Marich made a prediction in support of the Wolverines.

One of the cycle’s most sought-after interior linemen is the lineman from Providence Day School in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 6-6, 280-pound lineman is regarded as the eighth interior lineman and the 132nd-best prospect in the country by the Composite.

Michigan is still up against Clemson and Tennessee. The Tennessee Vols and Clemson Tigers are scheduled to visit Delaney, despite two recent predictions that favor the maize and blue.

While recently on campus, Delaney informed the Michigan Wolverines The visit “was wonderful!” according to SI.

Providence Day School has recently had success recruiting students from Michigan. In the 2024 cycle, the Wolverines acquired wide receiver Channing Goodwin and quarterback Jadyn Davis.
