Tennessee HC Josh Heupel Reacts On Vols Landing Coveted 6-Foot-3 Quarterback

The Tennessee Volunteers 2026 recruiting class, ranked top-10 nationally, features eight early pledges anchored by five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon and talents like Tyreek King, Gabriel Osenda, and Tyran Evans. The Vols are aiming to bolster their haul this weekend, targeting linebacker Jordan Carter (a Texas A&M Aggies commit), potential USC Trojans linebacker Xavier Griffin, running back Jaylen McGill, and in-state star Joel Wyatt.

Besides these prospects, the Volunteers have also decided to host young prospects like quarterback Champ Monds from Vero Beach, Fla. and cornerback Larry Moon from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., on a Saturday visit, per On3’s Keegan Pope. Monds, the 6-foot-3 and 200-pound prospect from the class of 2028, has already been approached by dozens of programs.

The signal-caller has secured offers from the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Ole Miss Rebels, Miami Hurricanes and UCF Knights among others, per On3. Chad Simmons of On3 reported that Monds already has more than 20 offers despite being part of the 2028 recruiting class.
