Florida basketball vs. Texas Tech adjusted time and date for March Madness Elite Eight game

What time and day does Florida basketball play Texas Tech in March Madness Eight Eight? Here’s time, date, TV for 2025 NCAA Tournament Elite 8.

In the heart of the Golden State and with Todd Golden on the sidelines, the Florida basketball team moved one step closer to a golden ticket.

The Gators used an excellent second half to storm past Maryland 87-71 in the March Madness West Region Sweet 16 at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

Turnovers doomed UF in the first half as the Gators committed 13 turnovers, which hampered a solid shooting and defensive performance. That, in addition to an ankle injury to Alex Condon, put Florida up by just two (40-38) at the half.

In the second half, everything changed. UF turned it over just four times and used massive advantages in rebounding (42-20) and bench points (29-3) to put Maryland away. Will Richard led all scorers with 15 points, but the Gators had a balanced scoring effort with six in double figures.

Key contributions also came from Denzel Aberdeen (12 points), Thomas Haugh (14 points, nine rebounds) and Rueben Chinyelu (10 points, eight rebounds).

Florida’s opponent in the Elite Eight are the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Red Raiders defeated Arkansas 85-83 in overtime in the later game in San Francisco. UF’s trip to the Elite Eight is its first since 2017 – when it fell to South Carolina. The Gators’ last trip to the Final Four came in 2014.
