To talk about Neville Gallimore, the Colts have signed him for a one-year deal of $1.27 million. But the Colts don’t need to take a litmus test. Throughout his five years of NFL career, the former Cowboys star defensive tackle has made 109 tackles (43 solo and 62 assists). Before landing in the state of Indiana, the DT spent one year with the Los Angeles Rams.
The Colts have also retained linebacker David Long Jr. However, currently, they have not revealed the contract amounts. The fierce linebacker has played for several teams throughout his five-year NFL career and has recorded 388 tackles (230 solo). Shane Steichen’s latest QB addition can become a challenge to Anthony Richardson
Shane Steichen has added the former Giants quarterback, Daniel Jones, out of his rookie years with a staggering $14 million deal for the 2025 season. And this has more repercussions than one. This addition in the QB department might keep franchise QB Anthony Richardson on his toes. The NFL world saw his controversial ‘tiredness’ during the 2024 season. Adding Jones in the mix would hype the competition for the starting QB position.
It is also said that Daniel Jones had an opportunity to re-sign with the latest former team, the Minnesota Vikings, but he chose this path. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer recently explained Jones’s decision to join Shane Steichen on March 17. “And Jones, I’m told, picked what he saw as the better chance to win, and keep, a starting job. If he went back to Minnesota and J.J. McCarthy turned the corner in the coming weeks, and maintained the momentum into the spring, given that the Vikings just took him 10th in the 2024 draft, it’d have been hard for Jones to dislodge him from the lineup,” Albert Breer said.
The national reporter also perfectly described Anthony Richardson’s situation, saying, “Anthony Richardson, conversely, is at the end, rather than the start, of his window to make the team that drafted him his own.” The 2024 year was brutal for the QB. He only completed 47.7% of his passes. Whereas, Jones had a completion rate of 63.3% with eight touchdowns. So, on papers, Jones has an upper hand in terms of experience.
