Netflix released the trailer for “The Clubhouse: A Year with the Red Sox” on Wednesday just weeks away from its premiere date.
The trailer provides snippets from the upcoming eight-part series including commentary from Red Sox manager Alex Cora, outfielder Jarren Duran and first baseman Triston Casas.
“It’s a game of failure, and you gotta be okay with it,” Casas says.
MassLive’s Sean McAdam is also featured and provides commentary on the team.
“This is a team that has finished last, three of the last four years,” McAdam says in the trailer. “But you do wonder what they’re really like inside. If you’re not cut out for it, you’re in for a different experience in Boston.”
Fans also get a look at chief baseball officer Craig Breslow during his first MLB trade deadline, which includes a clip of Breslow rubbing his face during what appears to be a conversation with Cora.
The documentary followed the 2024 Red Sox throughout the season in which Boston finished 81-81 and missed the postseason for a third straight year.
“The immersive series offers an unprecedented look into the personal and professional lives of the Boston Red Sox during the 2024 season, providing a never-before-seen glimpse into the extreme demands of a grueling 162-game schedule,” Netflix wrote regarding the series.
“The Clubhouse: A Year with the Red Sox” premiers on April 8 on Netflix. The date is a Tuesday during the Boston’s first homestand of the 2025 season.
