Breaking News: 4 2025 Recruit Agot Makeer has announced her commitment to South Carolina over UConn and Michigan St….

On Saturday, the long recruitment of 5-star Agot Makeer came to an end with the South Carolina women’s basketball program securing her commitment. The class of 2025 product was one of the final uncommitted prospects in the cycle. In the end, she chose the Gamecocks over the UConn Huskies and Michigan State Spartans. She announced her decision on social media. South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley teased the announcement earlier on Saturday with her patented “birdie” post on Twitter/X.

Ranked No. 4 overall in the On3 industry rankings, Makeer is one of the top recruits in the land. She considers herself a combo guard who can play on the wing, and her game backs that up. She is athletic, long, and aggressive. Makeer can handle the basketball, and she is a knock-down shooter if given space. Her range also extends several feet beyond the 3-point arc.

Listed between 6-1 and 6-2, she has played virtually every position on the floor. The On3 industry ranking considers Makeer to be the top small forward in the country, but she spends most of her time handling the ball as a guard at the high school level. Coach Staley likes versatility (especially on defense), and Makeer brings that to the table.

After spending much of her life in Ontario, Canada, Makeer has played her senior season at Montverde Academy in Florida
