The Bruins will be without Brad Marchand for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Wild.
Interim coach Joe Sacco said while Marchand made the trip with the team from Pittsburgh, he won’t be available against Minnesota.
“There’s really nothing to report yet,” Sacco told reporters ahead of the 3:30 p.m. puck drop. “He’s out today. He’ll get evaluated when we get back to Boston.”
Marchand is dealing with an upper-body injury suffered just 5:56 into the first period of Boston’s eventual 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday when he absorbed a hit from behind from P.O. Joseph. Marchand went into the boards at an awkward angle and remained down for several minutes before he was helped off the ice.
