ITV’s Good Morning Britain came under fire this Friday (July 19) for what some viewers described as an “embarrassing” reaction to the impending heatwave. Weather guru Laura Tobin was back on screen with her daily forecast, but when she warned viewers about a steamy day ahead, not everyone was thrilled.

The weather forecast predicted showers in the north and west of the UK, while other regions were told to expect dry and sunny conditions with temperatures peaking at around 31 degrees. Tobin urged folks to lather up in suncream, given the extreme heat ahead.

However, she said this sizzling spell “will not last”. In fact, a cooler snap is anticipated as we venture into next week, reports the Mirror.

Despite most Brits eager for a bit of sunshine following a washout summer, GMB watchers weren’t exactly happy with the show’s broadcast and took to their social media profiles to share their annoyance.

‘It’s embarrassing’

Another disgruntled viewer took to Twitter, saying: “Bore off, this is not Africa; it’s embarrassing.” A further critique followed with: “Bizarre weather presentation. Colors that resemble a burning fire and an average line devoid of any figures. This isn’t information, it’s propaganda and fearmongering. #gmb #weather,” tweeted another miffed fan.
