Eustace is refusing to give up as the Rams fight to remain in the Championship.
Derby County’s John Eustace insists they will not give up in their Championship relegation battle.
After losing to QPR and Millwall in Eustace’s first two matches at Pride Park, the Rams are now 23rd in the table and four points from safety.
They had suffered seven consecutive league defeats under former manager Paul Warne prior to Eustace’s arrival and had not won since Boxing Day.
But with 12 matches left to play, starting against Middlesbrough away on Saturday, Eustace is staying positive about the club’s chances of pulling clear of relegation trouble as he looks forward to more time with his players on the training ground.
“It’s important that we just keep building, and we have another good week on the training field this week,” he said after the defeat to Millwall, having identified the final third as an area that needs improvement.
“I think our decision-making in that final third today was key. We got in some really good areas, especially in the second half on the transitions, but that lack of quality decision-making in the final third wasn’t right.
“But we’ll keep working and there’s no way anyone’s giving up. We’ll keep fighting and we’ll have a really good week’s training again next week.”
