Alex Bregman Offers 1-Word Response On Joining Boston

The Red Sox certainly are fortunate to have Bregman

The Boston Red Sox have another superstar in town.

Fans in Boston have been waiting for the Red Sox to make a major statement, and the team achieved just that this week, apparently signing former Houston Astros All-Star Alex Bregman. He’s a two-time World Series winner who will provide the Red Sox with everything they need on the right side of the plate.

Boston is fortunate to have him, and he appears to be enjoying his visit. This is hardly surprising after signing a three-year, $120 million contract. When questioned by WCVB CH5 Lead Sports Anchor Duke Castiglione about his experience with Boston during Spring Training, he gave a one-word response.

“Awesome,” Bregman said with a thumbs up.

Prior to joining the Red Sox, he spent the first nine years of his major league career with Houston. He was a two-time All-Star, a World Series champion, a Gold Glove Award winner, a Silver Slugger Award winner, and the All-Star Game’s Most Valuable Player.

According to reports, Bregman is expected to start at second base for the Red Sox in 2025. Spring training has only begun, and anything can happen, but an infield that includes him, Triston Casas, Trevor Story, and Rafael Devers is certainly interesting to consider.

Bregman had 26 home runs and 75 RBIs last season for the Astros 145 games played. He also had 4.1 wins above replacement. If he can stay healthy, the Red Sox are going to be contenders.
