Michigan has 14 incoming transfers for the 2025 football season, with many already on campus participating in team activities. Three of these transfers have announced the jersey numbers they will wear this fall for the Wolverines.
Former Clemson defensive tackle Tre Williams will wear No. 0 for Michigan’s defense after sporting No. 8 at Clemson last season. Josaiah Stewart wore No. 0 for Michigan last year, and cornerback Mike Sainristil previously held the number. Williams, who joined Michigan after five seasons at Clemson, recorded 42 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and four sacks in 44 games, starting four of them. He is expected to play a rotational role for the Wolverines next season.
Arkansas transfer TJ Metcalf will wear No. 7, the same number previously worn by Makari Paige. Metcalf, who wore No. 18 at Arkansas last season, recorded 71 tackles, 3 interceptions, 10 pass breakups, and 1 forced fumble in two seasons with the Razorbacks.
TJ’s brother, Tevis Metcalf, has also revealed his number, wearing No. 24, the same number he had at Arkansas. Myles Pollard wore No. 24 for the Wolverines before transferring to Memphis this offseason. The 5-10 cornerback played just 15 defensive snaps during his time at Arkansas.
