New Series Confirmed: ‘A Bit of a Surprise’ Slow Horses Star Christopher Chung Drops Hints For Season 5.
Roddy, initially introduced as a rogue hacktivist, eventually earned the trust of the reluctant Slow Horses team thanks to his hacking expertise. In a recent interview with The Radio Times, Chung hinted that there will be significant developments in Roddy’s relationship with the team.
In season five, Roddy becomes even more confident and outspoken, and Chung assured fans that they’d be in for some surprises, adding humorously that he might even showcase a few dance moves. Apple TV+ has hinted that Roddy’s role will expand, with the season five synopsis revealing that he will start a romantic relationship that catches the attention of his fellow Slow Horses.
The official synopsis for season five states: “In season 5 of Slow Horses, everyone is suspicious when tech expert Roddy Ho has a glamorous new girlfriend. But when a series of increasingly strange events occur across the city, the Slow Horses must figure out how they’re all connected. As Jackson Lamb knows, in the world of espionage, ‘London Rules’ must always apply.”
As teased in the synopsis, season five is based on Mick Herron’s 2018 novel London Rules.
Slow Horses has been a massive hit for Apple TV+, and fans were thrilled to hear last year that the show was renewed for a sixth season before the fifth has even aired. Jay Hunt, Apple TV’s creative director in Europe, expressed excitement over the renewal, saying that audiences worldwide have embraced the show. Gary Oldman, who stars as the unpredictable leader Jackson Lamb, also spoke about the fun of playing his character in a recent interview with CBR.
