Braves announce in-market streaming trades

As part of the bankruptcy exit negotiations with Diamond and MLB in November, it was announced that Atlanta Braves baseball would be available via Amazon.

For three-plus months, there were no details shared on this matter. That is, until today. We got further details about the new agreement and as expected, if you’re a cord-cutter then there’s good news for you here.

The Braves will continue to be broadcasted via the newly rebranded Fanduel Sports Network, formerly known as Bally Sports Network. If you had Bally available through your cable provider before, there is no change other than the name. The difference is now, in-market streaming is available for fans in Braves Country.

All the network’s Braves games and programming will also stream on the FanDuel Sports Network app and at FanDuelSportsNetwork.com. Fans can access Braves content through the app either by authenticating through a pay TV provider or – for the first time ever – by subscribing directly to the app for $19.99 per month.

This option is only available to fans within the Braves broadcast territory.

In-market streaming of live Braves baseball is available a la carte via a streaming app. No blackouts, just baseball. It only took 10-15 years. What a day.

Note that it will also be able for Amazon Prime customers with details and pricing to come. Maybe there is a pricing advantage for Amazon customers, sothat is something to watch. Currently you can stream MLB.tv, Paramount+, and a few ot her subscriptions through Amazon Prime, but there is no discount (at least to my knowledge). So if you wanted to you could stream “Tulsa King” through Amazon Prime if you already paid for the Paramount+ subscription, just in case you want to watch an old man pretend to be a tough guy mobster on an app that is layered on another service.
