Ange Postecoglou expects to have three injured players available when his squad faces Manchester United next weekend.
Tottenham’s injury list is beginning to shorten, with three players set to return for the next league game and four more close to returning to training.
Tottenham had 11 players unavailable for their trip to Villa Park on Sunday, resulting in their second cup exit in four days.
Postecoglou is under pressure to turn things around, but with several important players set to return, the Australian should benefit significantly.
James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie back vs Man United
The Times reports that James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, and Destiny Udogie are slated to return against Manchester United.
Maddison’s comeback from a calf injury sustained against Hoffenheim in the Europa League will greatly benefit Dejan Kulusevski, who need rest.
Vicario has not played since November 23, when Spurs defeated Manchester City 4-0, due to an ankle fracture.
The 28-year-old has subsequently seen the North London club add a number two in Antonin Kinsky, giving him competition for a starting berth.
Udogie, who missed 11 matches due to a hamstring injury, is expected to return against United, allowing Djed Spence to take his place.
Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert, Timo Werner and Dominic Solanke close to returning to training
Meanwhile, all of Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert, Timo Werner and Dominic Solanke are close to returning to training.
Johnson and Odobert are due back within the next week and Werner and Solanke are expected back shortly after.
Odobert has made just six appearances in a Spurs shirt having suffered a nasty hamstring injury on September 18.
Ange Postecoglou’s attacking options will become stacked when this quartet returns with Mathys Tel having been added to the squad in January.
