Breaking news: The Miami Heat suspended Jimmy Butler for the second time in three weeks after he failed to show up for a team flight to Milwaukee.

Earlier this month, the Heat suspended the 35-year-old forward for seven NBA games due to “multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team.”

Butler missed a team trip on Wednesday after returning from that suspension last Friday, which resulted in an additional two-match penalty.

Butler will miss games against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday and the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, according to the Heat, who previously stated that they would consider trade proposals after Butler’s initial suspension.

A statement from the Heat stated, “We have suspended Jimmy Butler for two games due to his persistent pattern of disobedience of team rules, insubordinate behavior, and conduct that is detrimental to the team, including missing today’s team flight to Milwaukee.”

In 2019, Butler, a six-time NBA All-Star, moved from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Heat.

In his 25 games this season, he has averaged 17 points, 4.8 assists, and 5.2 rebounds.

February 6th is the NBA trading deadline.

It wasn’t really noteworthy.

The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Utah Jazz 123-114 at home thanks to a career-high 54 points from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, solidifying their lead in the Western Conference.

Gilgeous-Alexander remarked, “It was no different from any other night.” “I had a few more points tonight, but it was nothing special.”

The Boston Celtics defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 117-113 in overtime.

The Celtics had 25 points from Jaylen Brown and 24 from Jayson Tatum.

DeMar DeRozan scored 32 points and Domantas Sabonis scored 26 to help the Sacramento Kings overcome an 18-point hole and defeat the Golden State Warriors 123-117 at home.

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Dallas Mavericks 115-144, while the Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a 109-108 loss to the Houston Rockets.
