Dodgers and Teoscar Hernandez at a Standstill
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Teoscar Hernández look to be locked in a position with little development.
It seems expected that Hernández would rejoin the Dodgers, where he enjoyed his best season, following an outstanding debut season. The 32-year-old hit a career high 33 home runs and played a crucial role in the World Series-winning lineup.
Hernández and the Dodgers have both indicated interest in getting back together, but nothing has materialized as of yet. The Dodgers have yet to pay Hernández the $22–24 million he is requesting annually, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
Possible Transfer to the Red Sox
Both parties may have to move on if the issue doesn’t improve quickly. Given the history of former Dodgers players joining other clubs in recent years, it would not be shocking if another team made a move as a result of this.
The Dodgers’ negotiations with Hernández would eventually come to an end, allowing him to join with the Boston Red Sox, according to a new YouTube video by content creator Jim Riley.
When it becomes clear that there is simply no Dodgers deal… Riley predicted a swift change in direction.
I’m going to choose the Boston Red Sox to win the Oscar because they’re a team that has promised to invest money, be proactive, and get righty bat.
Red Sox Requirements and Hernández’s Outstanding Performance
Hernández ended the previous season with 33 home runs, 99 RBIs, a.840 OPS, and a 137 OPS+. He is one of the top right-handed batters available right now, and the Red Sox are in need of right-handed bats in their lineup.
In addition to former LA players Justin Turner, Kenley Jansen, and Kiké Hernández, the Red Sox have already signed former Dodger Walker Buehler this week. Hernández would become the most recent former Dodger great to relocate to Boston if he signs on.
