On Monday night, South Carolina signed a well-known name from the transfer portal.

Brandon Cisse, a former defensive back for NC State, will be playing for the Gamecocks going forward.South Carolina fans may remember Cisse as a recruit when he was coming out of Lakewood High School in Sumter back in the class of 2023.

Additionally, Cisse has formally signed with the program after South Carolina announced his commitment.

The addition of Cisse to the Gamecocks is noteworthy. During his notable 2024 playing time with the Wolfpack, he recorded 28 tackles, 5 pass deflections, and 2 tackles for loss. Next season, he is expected to play a key part in South Carolina’s secondary.

This cycle, South Carolina has currently had 13 transfers. According to 247Sports, the team is ranked No. 15 in the country. In an effort to increase the effectiveness of their pass defense in 2025, Cisse is the second defensive back to join South Carolina’s transfer class thus far. In that category, South Carolina finished third in the SEC last season.
