He is Back: Colorado Avalanche welcomes Captain Gabriel Landeskog on His Return…

Gabriel Landeskog, the captain of the Colorado Avalanche and a key member of the team’s Stanley Cup-winning squad in 2022, continues his return to the NHL. Due to knee cartilage transplant surgery, Landeskog has been sidelined since the Stanley Cup Final’s Game 6 that decided the championship. His future with the team and even his ability to play competitive hockey remain uncertain.

In a cautiously upbeat report on the forward’s injury status on December 13, Avs head coach Jared Bednar stated that Landeskog was “doing really well right now.”

In an interview with TSN Radio Montreal earlier today, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period discussed Landeskog’s development, praising the Avalanche’s cautious strategy while still voicing hope. Bernstein remarked, “I assume he’s going to try to come back because he keeps skating.” They are quite secret about when they do it. He continues to skate with the team, but they are still unsure of the exact time frame. “I assume he wants to come back,” they said.

Gabriel Landeskog, 92, a left winger for the Colorado Avalanche, addresses the media. The Avs’ current performance is giving them some breathing room and enabling the organization to avoid hurrying Landeskog back for a postseason push, Bernstein added in his article.

Bernstein said, “That team is really hot.” They have won six in a row. In their last ten games, they are 8-2. He is not needed at this time. He will therefore be saved for the playoffs. The Avalanche have lost both of their recent games as a result of his remarks. “I assume the reality (of a comeback) exists as long as he continues to skate and practice,” Bernstein stated.

I simply have no idea how near that reality we are. With a 25-15-1 record and third place in the Central Division, Colorado is currently guaranteed a postseason berth without having to contend with the wild-card competition.
