Lancashire Police are urgently seeking the public’s help in locating a missing 27-year-old woman, last seen in Burnley’s Charter Walk Shopping Centre. The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was reported missing after her last known whereabouts were confirmed to be in the shopping centre on the afternoon of January 19, 2025.
Authorities have expressed concern for her well-being, and a team of officers is currently leading a search operation in the area and beyond. The woman’s disappearance has raised significant concern among her family and friends, who have described her as “a kind and reliable person” and are anxious for her safe return.
According to Lancashire Police, the missing woman was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark jeans, and white trainers. She has long brown hair and is described as approximately 5’6” tall with a slim build. Police have urged anyone with information, or who may have seen her in the vicinity of Charter Walk or nearby areas, to come forward.
The police investigation has led them to focus efforts on local CCTV footage, as well as conducting house-to-house inquiries in the surrounding neighborhoods. Officers are also working closely with other emergency services to ensure that all leads are being thoroughly followed up.
Residents in Burnley and surrounding areas are being encouraged to remain vigilant and report any sightings to the authorities immediately. Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Green from Lancashire Police stated, “We are deeply concerned for this young woman’s safety, and we are doing everything we can to locate her. We urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward and help us bring her home.”
In addition to police efforts, the woman’s family has taken to social media in an attempt to spread awareness of her disappearance. They have posted flyers and shared details online, hoping to reach as many people as possible.
Lancashire Police have also appealed for help from anyone who may have been in the area of Charter Walk on Friday afternoon, asking them to check their dashcam footage or any images that could potentially assist with the investigation.
