The Florida Gators have been very calculated in how they attack the transfer portal. Head coach Billy Napier has put most of his focus on high school recruiting, which is going well for them, especially after vaulting up to 11th in the 2025 recruiting class.
So far in the transfer potar they have added four total prospects with their biggest hit coming in to help quarterback DJ Lagway in wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant. The fourth came this week in former Southern Miss cornerback Michael Caraway Jr.
Caraway is a former three-start JUCO commit to Southern Miss in 2022 and is taking advantage of the junior college eligibility rules that Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia spearheaded to get in place this offseason.
They originally added via the transfer portal from UAB, but he flipped his commitment just days later to Georgia. Having depth in the secondary is going to be important for the Gators, especially with how much youth is in the secondary.
Caraway will join a room with Cormani McClain, Teddy Foster, Jameer Grimsley, Dijon Johnson, and Devin Moore.
