This winter, the Los Angeles Dodgers have had an almost flawless offseason. They recently re-signed Teoscar Hernández, extended Tommy Edman, and added Blake Snell. The Dodgers, however, are not finished yet.
Prior to the 2025 season, they might keep improving their roster, especially the bullpen. Chris Landers of FanSided recently forecast that the Dodgers would sign pitcher Tanner Scott from the San Diego Padres in free agency. Scott would be a significant upgrade to Los Angeles’ bullpen and is expected to sign for about $50 million.
The Dodgers don’t have a great lefty option for Dave Roberts to use in the highest-leverage positions, and they need one more impact arm in the bullpen given the injury concerns surrounding players like Blake Treinen and Michael Kopech,” Landers said. “Scott, one of the top whiff artists in the game, would fit both of those descriptions. He has a wipeout slider on the left side and is in his upper 90s.

Although he will always struggle with command, he has managed to control it enough in the last two seasons to become one of baseball’s finest relievers, which also has the added advantage of allowing him to steal a player from LA’s most formidable division foe.
Scott would fit right in with the Dodgers. In addition to working the seventh or eighth inning as a nightmare for lefties, he would provide them with a high-leverage lefty who can end games. In addition, it would be wise for the Dodgers to grab him from a division opponent.
