hiHarley-Davidson recently tested its competition-spec Road Glide motorcycles at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, marking a significant step toward integrating with the MotoGP paddock. This event followed the MotoGP race weekend and involved a star-studded lineup, including MotoAmerica riders Kyle Wyman and James Rispoli, as well as former MotoGP legends like Marco Melandri and Simon Crafar.
The test was organized in collaboration with Dorna Sports, the MotoGP organizer, and demonstrated Harley-Davidson’s intent to expand its racing footprint internationally. The event featured the brand’s “King of the Baggers” race machines, known for their unique style and powerful performance. These machines reportedly hit impressive speeds of over 171 mph on the circuit.
Harley-Davidson is exploring the possibility of establishing a dedicated bagger category within MotoGP events, rather than competing in the traditional classes. The company’s CEO, Jochen Zeitz, emphasized that racing is a core part of their brand identity and global strategy to engage fans.
