Breaking News: Accident Show Off At Kansas, The NASCAR Play

Daniel Suarez, a driver in the playoffs, lost a lap in the last laps of the first stage but was awarded a free pass and will start the second stage on the lead lap, which consists of 85 laps. One lap down is Kyle Larson, who was involved in a collision early in Stage 1.

In the Hollywood Casino 400, Kyle Larson, who won the race at Kansas Speedway in May for the NASCAR Cup Series, encountered an early issue. Turn 1 on Lap 20 saw Larson, the top-seeded driver going into the second round of the playoffs, scrape the outside wall as his right rear tyre went flat. As the caution flag flew, he was allowed to take his No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet down pit road so his team could assess the damage.

Pit road was used by the field to change tires and refuel during the yellow flag. Restarting from the pole position, Christopher Bell held the lead. Among the lead lap cars, Larson restarted last but managed to stay on the lead lap.

Just moments after the Hollywood Casino 400 green flag waved, a multi-car collision happened at Kanas Speedway towards the rear of the field. Ty Dillon, starting in position 32, and Harrison Burton, starting in position 28, made contact and sent both cars spinning. The collision also claimed the lives of Josh Berry and Jimmy Johnson. Chase Elliott was forced to ride directly up against the outside wall during the collision, but Elliott’s No. 9 Chevrolet escaped unharmed.

At Kansas, the NASCAR playoff race starts with the green flag.

The Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway is now underway. This is the first race of the second round and the fourth of ten playoff races. The field is leading after 80 laps in the first stage, which is driven by Ty Gibbs and Christopher Bell of Joe Gibbs Racing.

In the NASCAR playoff race at Kansas, Chase Elliott will start last.

In Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, Chase Elliott, who is ranked eighth going into the second round of the playoffs, will start at the back of the pack. After qualifying on Saturday, Hendrick Motorsports modified the engine of his No. 9 Chevrolet.
