49ers WR Ricky Pearsall’s shooting case gets stunning claims from defendant
As Pearsall recovers, the 49ers await his return while hoping
Incredibly detailed information has surfaced from the defendant’s side in the shooting case of 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall.
Ricky Pearsall, a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, is still dealing with the fallout from the tragic incident that happened in late August.
Fortunately, Pearsall, who was shot in the arm during an attempted robbery on August 31, is making a full recovery. Following a statement by public defendant Robert Dunlap, stunning information from the defendant in the shooting case has surfaced.
After acquiring fresh camera footage from the incident, Dunlap talked about what he believed to have happened during the struggle between Pearsall and the defendant:
The altercation between Mr. Pearsall and my client lasted quite a while. On the sidewalk, they were actually fighting back and forth. As one might expect, Mr. Pearsall comes out on top. “He sends my client to the ground and ends up on top of him, kind of like a good hip toss,” Dunlap said, as reported by David Lombardi of The Athletic.
Dunlap went on to say that he thought the video he saw supported the theory that the case was one of attempted robbery rather than attempted murder. Furthermore, Dunlap stated that he was unable to discern the exact moment when gunfire was recorded on the footage, but he was hopeful that more footage might clarify this.
After receiving non-surgical treatment for the altercation wound, Ricky Pearsall was eventually released in “fair condition.” The rookie wide receiver was later added to the 49ers’ non-football injury list.As he finishes his recuperation, the squad anticipates that he will miss at least four games.

With their 31st pick in the first round of the 2024 draft, San Francisco chose Pearsall. He spent three years at Arizona State and was a standout receiver for the Florida football team. Before becoming pro, Pearsall finished his last season at Florida with 1,207 yards and six touchdowns.
As more about his late-August incident comes to light, perhaps Pearsall’s recuperation from his injuries will proceed in a safe and effective manner.
