Tottenham may not have been able to sign Pedro Neto to Chelsea, but it appears that they made multiple attempts to convince Wolves to work with them.
Neto had been linked to a summer transfer to Tottenham, but according to reports that surfaced yesterday, Chelsea has now moved quickly to sign him.

Neto from Wolves will cost Chelsea about £52 million, and if add-ons are included, this will be a club-record deal.
Tottenham, of course, has to start over, and while they want to introduce Dominic Solanke today, they will also be looking to add a new winger.

Even if Neto’s move to Chelsea has Spurs supporters scratching their heads, it appears the team tried a couple different approaches to close the transaction.
And part of that involved including one of their own stars in the bargain.
