Promising Orioles prospect credits an unexpected source for his significant progress in MLB
After joining the Baltimore Orioles for the second time, Jackson Holliday is starting to click. What is the second baseman’s secret to getting better? Most likely, you couldn’t guess. The teenage slugger claims that while he was with the Triple-A Norfolk Tides, he began playing the arcade game “Golden Tee Golf,” which he now considers to be a lucky charm.

Holliday played “Golden Tee” at the Progressive Field visitors’ clubhouse prior to the Orioles’ away game against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday, according to Rill. It should come as no surprise that he recorded his second straight multi-hit game in a 7-4 win. Holliday brought that enthusiasm into the game on Sunday.

Holliday’s first ten games in Baltimore in April saw him go 2-for-34 with one RBI, two walks, five runs scored, and eighteen strikeouts. He’s gone 7-for-18 with one double, two home runs, seven RBI, two walks, five runs scored, and five strikeouts in five games since being called up at the end of July.

To encourage the youngster keep up his hot hand, maybe the Orioles could buy a “Golden Tee” arcade game. Naturally, improving his swing mechanics and giving him a better field of vision should also be beneficial.
For Baltimore (67-46), Holliday’s rise is crucial, particularly in a close American League East race. The Orioles and the New York Yankees (67-46) are tied for first place in the division.
