The Toronto Maple Leafs, a hockey team, signed defenseman Ben Danford to an entry-level three-year contract today.
Danford, 18, helped the Oshawa Generals (OHL) advance to the Championship Series of the 2024 OHL Playoffs by scoring 33 points (one goal, 32 assists) in 64 games during the 2023–24 season and adding 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 21 playoff games.

The 6’2,192-pound defenseman has played in 127 OHL regular season games and has scored 54 points (five goals, 49 assists), while in 26 postseason games, he has scored 11 points (four goals, seven assists).
Toronto chose the Madoc, Ontario native in the first round (31st overall) of the 2024 NHL Draft.
