After joining the Dallas Mavericks this summer, Klay Thompson may no longer be a member of the Golden State Warriors, but he still wants to lend a hand to his old colleagues when they need it.
Festus Ezeli, a former center for the Warriors who is now a broadcaster, traveled with Thompson to Cameroon recently to assist with some kids basketball camps and a U20 competition. Highlights from the camps were shared by Ezeli on his Instagram stories, which were saved and shared by X user @ceeayech.
Ezeli has dedicated his entire being to bringing basketball to every corner of Africa. The two players attended the U20 event held by VisionC, a nonprofit organization that promotes young basketball in Africa. The executive director of the organization is a native of Nigeria.
As members of the Warriors team that finished 73-9 and shared the 2015 NBA Championship, Thompson and Ezeli were colleagues. Following the 73-9 season, Ezeli signed with the Portland Trail Blazers, but he never made it to the field and was waived due to persistent knee problems. Though he spent only a few seasons with the Warriors and was not on Thompson’s squad for nearly ten years,
