League One Rivals Welcome Bolton Wanderers Flop
According to their official website, Muhammadu Faal has been revealed as Crawley Town’s newest recruit. He will initially start a six-month contract with the team.
The forward, who previously played for Maidstone United of the National League South, is taking a big step up with his new team, which is headquartered in Sussex. The 27-year-old would benefit greatly from a mid-season move from fellow sixth-tier team Havant & Waterlooville, and he would maintain his form following a strong first half of the Hawks season.
Faal scored six goals and added an assist during the regular season while playing for Maidstone. He also scored the game-winning goal in the waning seconds of the Stones’ 2-1 victory over Aveley in the play-off quarterfinals. Despite losing 2-1 to Worthing in the semi-finals, Kent would go on to have a successful season for both the team and the player.
Following his unsuccessful January 2020 transfer to Bolton Wanderers, Faal is presently reestablishing his career. During his one and a half season with the Trotters, he made just two appearances in League One; it was a disastrous move.
Consequently, he would slide all the way down to then-Isthmian Premier side Enfield Town after being released in the summer of 2021. The Englishman’s efforts since then have paid off, as he now gets another opportunity to play in League One with Crawley, a team that was just promoted.
