Paul George is thrilled about his excellent fit with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid.
For many reasons, Paul George was the Sixers’ top goal this offseason, and he is aware of how well he gets along with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid.
With Paul George joining the team to give them a true trio of stars, the Sixers’ offseason could not have gone much better.
George discussed his thoughts on free agency, his eagerness to join Philadelphia, and how he believes he’ll mesh with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid during his first news conference last week.
When asked about his early impressions of how he’ll get along with his new co-stars, George (not surprisingly) mentioned Embiid’s play on the block, Maxey’s lightning-fast speed and tempo, and how his own scoring ability can let them be aggressive and release pressure when necessary:
It’s encouraging for the Sixers to hear George emphasize how much the other players on the team can support him. George recognizes the obvious benefits of his shooting in creating space for his teammates,
but he also recognizes the advantages of Maxey’s driving and Embiid’s superior interior scoring in helping him score more points.
as well. When left in any space, George will be all set to punish defenses with his three-point shooting, or he will be ready to assault defenses that are reeling from an attack led by Embiid or Maxey.
