John Kruk gives the Phillies a severe reality check following their devastating Yankees defeat.
The Phillies and Yankees dropped their second straight series opening. It was the first game in a three-game set that the Philadelphia Phillies lost badly, 14-4, to the New York Yankees.
This was the fifth series in which Philadelphia had lost the opening game. The Phillies have been struggling lately, but former player and commentator John Kruk discussed their performance and said that there is no need to panic just yet.
It’s annoying because, well, it’s unlike them; normally, they win the first game of a series and proceed from there. John Kruk stated on NBC Sports Philadelphia, “I understand. “You are aware that many of the supporters are irate. They need to be more strict with these folks, as you can tell by the fact that they are calling team meetings. When you’re winning, everything is good; however, when you start losing, adjustments must be made.
All they need to do is pick up baseball again! Although they’re not winning baseball at the moment, their defense has recently failed them. While the beginning pitching has not been as good as it was earlier in the year, some players are having offensive difficulties.
