The toughest man in Major League Baseball, James McCann, remains in after taking a fastball to the face.
The trade deadline, which gives all 30 teams until 6:00 p.m. ET on July 30 to make deals, has been the center of attention in MLB. Some teams may be able to acquire a star player to aid in their postseason push. Others can use it to their advantage by trading players to improve their farm system.
For the duration of the season, not only are the Baltimore Orioles the club to watch before the trade deadline, but also after it. They took against the Toronto Blue Jays, who are in excellent selling position, on Monday with a record of 62-43.
James McCann, the Orioles’ catcher, had quite the injury scare during Monday’s game. Yariel Rodriguez, the Blue Jays starter, whacked McCann in the nose with a 95 mph fastball in the bottom of the first inning. The hit by pitch allowed the Orioles to score a run, but McCann was hit by pitch and his shirt dripped blood all over his face.

McCann displayed his toughness by playing on despite the frightening occurrence, even though he had gauze inserted into his nostrils. That’s correct, despite taking a fastball that clocked at 95 mph to the nose, McCann managed to play through nine innings.
